Bodegas Campo Viejo

Founded in 1959 and based near Logroño in Rioja, Bodegas Campo Viejo has grown into one of Rioja's largest wineries and most-distributed Spanish wine brands, exporting to more than 70 countries. Now part of the Vinarchy group (formerly Pernod Ricard Winemakers), the bodega sources Tempranillo grapes from all three Rioja sub-regions and maintains some 70,000 oak barrels dedicated to aging.

Deep cherry in color with rich, pronounced aromas of ripe red fruit, wood nuances, and gently sweet notes of vanilla and spice. On the palate it is perfumed, soft, and fresh with a long finish leaving memories of red fruit, vanilla, and cocoa.

Region

Rioja is one of Spain's most famous wine regions and one of only two classified under the prestigious Denominación de Origen Calificada (DOCa) system. The region, located in northern Spain's Ebro River Valley, is divided into three sub-zones — Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa, and Rioja Oriental — with Tempranillo and Garnacha as its two most important red grapes.
