Premium Sancerre On the nose honey, vanilla with gooseberry Tasty
The Moulin des Vrillères 2024 Sancerre Blanc by Kévin et Karine Lauverjat is a classic, terroir-driven expression of Sauvignon Blanc from 30-year-old vines grown in clay-limestone soils in Sury-en-Vaux. Fermented and aged in stainless steel with three months on the lees, it delivers crisp minerality, vibrant citrus, and white floral aromas that are hallmarks of top-quality Sancerre. Widely regarded as offering outstanding value within the appellation, it is the producer's flagship and top-selling cuvée.
The Lauverjat family has farmed in the tiny village of Sury-en-Vaux, Sancerre, for generations — the estate name 'Moulin des Vrillères' derives from a historic mill on the nearby La Belaine river. The 13-hectare domaine is now run by Christian, Karine, and their son Kevin, who joined in 2019 after studying winemaking in Beaune.
100% Sauvignon Blanc
Beautiful pale clear yellow with delicate aromas of white flowers, citrus, and flint; on the palate, a fresh, airy, medium-bodied style with gooseberry, grapefruit, and tangy mineral notes on the finish.
Sancerre is a prestigious AOC in the eastern Loire Valley, highly regarded for pure, mineral-driven Sauvignon Blanc grown on clay-limestone and flint soils. It is one of France's most celebrated white wine appellations, established in 1936.
Typical retail price approximately $28–$40 USD per 750ml bottle (avg. ~$31 per Wine-Searcher); widely considered exceptional value for the Sancerre appellation.
