Avoglia Negroamaro Puglia IGP 2024 is a youthful, fruit-forward red wine from Tenuta Giustini, crafted entirely from the native Negroamaro grape in Puglia, southern Italy. Aged exclusively in stainless steel, it is designed to be fresh, approachable, and immediately pleasurable. The wine reflects the generous soils of the Manduria region and the classic character of one of Puglia's most celebrated indigenous varieties.
Tenuta Giustini is a family estate based in San Giorgio, in the Primitivo di Manduria DOC area of southern Puglia, founded by Giuseppe Papadopoli after purchasing his first hectares in 1991 and releasing his debut wine in 2005. The estate, now run by Giuseppe alongside his sons Salvatore and Federico, focuses on native Puglian varieties grown on red clay-limestone soils over 45+ hectares, with meticulous hand-harvesting and sustainable practices.
100% Negroamaro
Ruby red in colour with aromas of blackcurrant, wild berries, and spice with hints of thyme; the palate is fruity and well-balanced with soft tannins, fresh savouriness, and notes of black cherry and red fruits.
Puglia, the 'heel' of Italy's boot, is dominated by indigenous black grape varieties — most notably Primitivo and Negroamaro — thriving in a hot Mediterranean climate. Negroamaro is particularly at home in the central and southern Salento sub-region, grown primarily around Lecce and Brindisi on calcareous clay soils.
Approximately €8.50 (Italy, producer direct) or around £12.60–£13.00 (UK retail)
